Beauty School Phoenix

What is a better place to live, Phoenix Arizona or Albuquerque New Mexico?(experience with both cities please)?
Im a 22 year old male, and me and my gf are planning to move around September from Missouri. We are thinking Phoenix sounds like its everything we want, year round warmth, no snow, not windy (like the midwest). We also want a place with little crime, and is people friendly, so we were looking around Paradise Valley or Fountain Hills for an apartment or condo to rent.
Recently I have been hearing a lot about how good Albuquerque New Mexico is. I have looked into it quite a bit, but I am unsure which city would be a better fit. We don’t really have the money to visit both before the move (we would just visit the one we decide on).
We would both be needing jobs (I am looking into starting Real Estate school, and she is going to be doing beauty school).
Which city would offer overall better fit for us considering the weather, jobs, little crime, schools, scenery, and availabilty to rent such as condo and apartment complexes.
Both places are similar in that they are in a dry, desert-like climate, but are different in that PHX is very hot in summer and ABQ is much more temperate. PHX is much, much larger if that appeals to you, and ABQ is smaller but still a good sized city. Check out crime rates on the websites if that’s a concern for you. ABQ is more low key, with a slower lifestyle than PHX. There’s a younger crowd in PHX since so many more people have been moving there. You really should take the trip and visit both before making a decision. You might even want to consider Tucson, which is hot like PHX and a smaller city.
