Laser Hair Growth

Has anyone tried laser hair removal for the face?

I am getting laser to treat hair growth on my cheeks and chin. It grows pretty dark. I want to know if anyone out there has had this done and liked it.

I’ve tried it…not on my face though…but I also preform laser hair treatments. Now it depends on the system that the place is using as to what kinds of results you get. The office I work at uses a top of the line FDA approved machine. As with any cosmetic procedure you get what you pay for. Laser hair removal is somewhat expensive for the average person but the results can be incredible. Different places recommend different time periods between treatments. We recommend at least 7-10 weeks to allow time for new hair growth. You can only treat places that you are willing to shave…not pluck and not wax. The hair must be gone when doing the procedure as the laser can burn the hair. There is some discomfort when getting the procedure done but it should not be too painful. It is easier to treat light colored skin…so the darker your pigment the more treatments you will probably need simply cause the esthetician will have to be more careful. It will only work on dark colored hair since the laser is attracted to the malanin in the hair.

I would recommend having it done. I’ve seen many people have wonderful results and one of the most common places we treat is women’s facial hair. They end up with very good results. We always tell people that this is a permanent reduction simply because hormonal changes, different meds, etc can cause hair to regrow. I would be careful of the place you choose to have your treatment done at. A lot of little spa places are now offering these treatments (depends on the laws in your state) and some don’t have a clue what they are doing. Your skin can be damaged by these lasers if the wrong settings are used. Make sure you go somewhere that has a true esthetician or doctor to over see. Hope it works for you and if you have any other questions let me know!
